♦ NISSAN / INFINITI Chip Keys

   RECOGNITION & APPLICATION

Nissan first used chip keys on some models beginning in 1999, and Infiniti began in 1997 on the Q45. Today, virtually all Nissan and Infiniti models use transponder systems. Some original keys with the chip look identical to keys without chips. Nissan and Infiniti models that use chip keys have an immobilizer light that flashes when no recognized key is in the ignition.

The following Nissan and Infiniti models are equipped with transponder keys:

  •    DUPLICATION & ORIGINATION
The '99 Maxima and I-30 keys may be duplicated by cloning the code to a replacement blank.

All other Infiniti and Nissans use encrypted transponders that can be cloned, but diagnostic programming is generally a better option. When programming any Nissan or Infiniti, the vehicle must be connected to programming equipment and all keys need to be present for the process.

Most later Nissan and Infiniti cars use what they refer to as an Intelligent Key, which is a proximity fob as opposed to a conventional bladed transponder key. This feature is optional on some models, and standard on others

We are able to originate and program virtually all Nissan and Infiniti chip keys.
